Roots to Wings Early Learning Center is a small, licensed center in Midland, Michigan, where children from infancy through age six are nurtured by people who genuinely love what they do.

We keep our environment clean and secure, with a licensed capacity of 60 children across four rooms and age-appropriate ratios so each child receives close, individual attention in small groups.

Alexa Roth
Program Director & Co-Owner
Alexa holds a Master's degree in School Psychology and 13 years of experience in the childcare field. Her love and passion for children show in her dedication and commitment to high-quality childcare, learning new skills, helping others, and developing leadership skills. Her kind, caring, and loving spirit provides the right environment for children and teachers to learn and grow. Alexa believes that relationships are at the core of creating a warm and welcoming environment that allows for a positive impact on children, teachers, and families as a whole. She strives to cultivate a culture that not only helps children learn, but also invites them to explore, dream, and think outside the box in a way that helps them be all they can be.
Christy Sodini
Administrative Director & Co-Owner
Christy brings 27 years of experience in early childhood education, including 22 years owning and operating in-home childcare programs and childcare centers. Her educational background includes Advertising and Marketing Management at Northwood University, an Associate in Applied Science with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education, and additional courses in elementary education. Christy's love for children and passion for early childhood education are at the heart of all she does. She believes children thrive when they feel known, loved, safe, and connected. With warmth, compassion, and a genuine commitment to creating meaningful relationships, she strives to make children, families, and teachers feel valued and supported. She believes the early years are about planting strong roots of connection, confidence, and belonging, while giving children the freedom to grow, discover, and spread their wings.

Every classroom is led by a qualified lead teacher and supported by a nurturing assistant, so your child is always in caring, capable hands.
Lead teachers
Lead teachers in our program hold a degree in child development or a related field. They are of good character, exhibit strong leadership skills, understand age-appropriate activities and expectations in their classrooms, and have a deep love for children. Each lead teacher develops and implements a challenging curriculum across all domains of development.
Assistant teachers
Assistant teachers have a genuine desire to learn about children's needs, developmental growth, and appropriate expectations. They bring a loving, nurturing disposition and a real eagerness to learn and grow in our philosophy.
